Taking files Offline

Using the computer you wish to take offline, Open Patient Management.

1. Click on Configure on the main menu.

   

2. Select 'Go Online/Offline'.

   

3. The left window contains a list of all your online patient files which are in the Patient files folder on your network.
   The right window contains a list of all your offline patient files which are in a temporary Patient files folder on the computer you are currently using.

   

4. Choose the files you wish to take offline by selecting them from the list on the left, and transfer them across by selecting the ‘right’ arrow or double-clicking the mouse. The file names are copied over to the right window. You may also hold down 'CTRL' and click more than one patient to select multiple, or to select a range - click on the first patient then hold down 'SHIFT' and select the last patient within a range.

   

5. If you change your mind and want to return any offline patient files back to your online folder, select the files from the list on the right and use the ‘left’ arrow to transfer them back.

   

6. If you want to transfer all of your online files to ‘offline’ status, you can click on the ‘Select All ’ button at the bottom of the list on the left. This transfers all the files across in one click and you do not need to use the arrow buttons.

   

7. If you want to transfer all of your offline files to ‘online’ status, you can click on the ‘Clear All’ button at the bottom of the list on the right. This transfers all the files across in one click and you do not need to use the arrow buttons.

   

8. When you have made your selections, click on the ‘Go Offline’ button in the bottom right corner of the screen, and return back to the main window in Patient Management. The ‘Offline’ tab is now displayed in the top right corner of the screen and all screens headings will have a grey tab indicating the offline status.

   

9. By clicking on ‘Load Patient’, you will see that only the patient files which were
   taken offline are visible in the list. To return these files to the patient files folder
   you will need to return them to 'Online' status.

   

   NOTE: Whilst your computer is in the offline state, no new patients may be created.
