Online patient files
By Default, the files that reside in your patient files folder on your network are set as being 'online'. These files can be accessed and updated at any time by any of your computers in your network that have Patient Management installed.
Offline patient files
If you use a portable computer in your network such as a laptop and you wish to use Patient Management while not connected to the network, you can temporarily copy selected patient files to your computer for remote access.
Patient Management changes the files that are copied from the network to your notebook computer to 'offline' status.
Offline files are not removed from the network as such but are locked so that other users cannot alter, or see them, on the network. When the remote computer is connected back to the network and the 'online' status is restored in Patient Management, the updated patient files can then be transferred back to the main Patient files folder on your network.
Patient Management will then change these files back to 'online' status.
